Ecco Golf Shoes?

No matter how many times I try other brands of shoes, none of them equal the comfort of Eccos.
Any other players feel the same way about Eccos?

I agree.
I bought some Adidas from what everyone says, they look great but hurt the top of my feet. Good shoes besides this.
Ecco's have lasted a long time through many spike changes but still in great shape with no wear.

I have a pair of World Class Saddle GTX and a pair of Flexor Hydromax. They are my only two pairs and I enjoy both.
I had a pair of Adidas Tour 360 limited edition for a short while this summer, but returned them because they weren't waterproof.
Thinking of getting another pair of Eccos. I would like another pair of World Class Saddle GTX, but they don't carry the black ones in Canada.

Ecco is simply the best. I can't imagine anyone changing brands once they buy ECCO.

I refuse to wear Ecco golf shoes as I used to wear their dress and casual shoes and then the soles started disintegrating after a couple years. When I brought this to Ecco's attention, I was met with a "sorry, we can't hep you" attitude.
I went online and found that this is a regular occurrence and there are whole web sites dedicated to the problem and they refuse to fix the problem or honor their warranty and I suppose this is a way they hope to sell more shoes. Needless to say I have moved on to Allen Edmund's, Alden's etc.. and couldn't be happier. No Ecco for me even if they are really comfortable and I hope none of you have to use the cust service dept.

I bought a pair of golf shoes this spring that the stitching started to fray. They sent me a prepaid bag to send them back so they could look at them. They contacted me a week later to tell me the shoes were defective and sent me a gift card to buy a new pair of the ECCO website. Top notch customer service if you ask me.

How do you guy's think they're sizes compare to FJ, Nike, or Adidas? I'm looking to buy a pair but just bought a pair of FJ Classics not knowing the run a half size large and don't want to make the same mistake.

ecco are the only golf shoes i will wear. the footjoy rep hates me. when he comes in to show us the new stuff i do my best to look impressed and interested....but just can't bring myself to get them. we buy them for the club but i don't own one pair. i wouldn't even take the freebies he offered me.....i knew it would be a waste...i wouldn't wear them.
in fact....i went to order a pair of reel-fit's for one of our lady members....they quit freaking making them for women. one season and done. too bad...those were our top seller and the most comfortable of the lot.
there is one pair i would own...classics in white pebble grain with the same saddle. but i am not custom ordering them at that price. PUD perhaps.....after i get all the other stuff on the list.
ecco is the best golf shoe. period.

No relation between Ecco and Callaway. Callaway subed out their shoe business to a company I believe that is based in Oregon. Ecco does not provide leather to them as rumored. Ecco does provide leather to BMW and I believe Coach for handbags. Ecco was approached by an OEM to provide shoes under the OEM name but Ecco wasn't interested.

Definitely try them on if you can! I went to an Ecco outlet and bought 2 pairs and when I tried their 11.5's on they swallowed my feet! I had to go to a 10.5 to have a good fit. I wear an 11.5 in everything else, from sneakers to dress shoes. Once I settled on the proper fit they were really comfortable. Just be sure to try them on as they seem to run bigger for some reason. Maybe the European sizing system somehow got lost in translation somewhere? Who knows, but they're worth it.

I love Ecco shoes! 2 pair of golf, a pair of running, 2 pair of casual dress, and a pair of sandals.
Ecco golf shoes are definitely the most comfortable to me. They are well made and very durable. The European conversion chart lost something in translation. I have found the Euro size runs larger than the US size it crosses to. The chart says I should wear a 44, but I actually fit comfortably in a 43, so I recommend trying them on until you find your size number.

Sizing depends on the style. I know that I have to go up a size afer the conversion.

I have a few pair of Ecco's. I love the fit and the supple leather. On my most recent pair "Hydros" the spikes
have been changed to the "Q-Loc". I have found that the spike at the ball of my right foot keeps coming off. I find that the spikes can be twisted on and off by hand. Other than that I will continue to buy Ecco brand b/c of comfort and style.

I've always been a Footjoy Classics guy because a) I don't like the trainer/sneaker style golf shoes and b) I like a pair of golf shoes that'll last forever if you look after them properly.
I bought my first pair of Ecco's last year (World Class Wing Tip GTX) and I've got to say, they're perfect. I ordered them from the Ecco store and they spent about half an hour with me making sure I got the right fit. If you have the opportunity to do this, it's certainly more beneficial than just guessing your size and ordering them online.
I can honestly say that my next pair of golf shoes will be another pair of Ecco World Class. The World Class City GTX in white with the brown crocodile skin saddle look pimp!

I am looking to purchase a pair of flexors. The differences seem to be style , colour and one/two year warranty. Is it worth going for the 2 year warranty flexor hydromax over the flexor saddle even though it is only a one year warranty. Basically with Ecco is the 2 year warranty something you would recommend?

I have 4 pair of Eccos -- they are all 3-5 years old. Since Ecco went to a new last about 2+ years ago, they haven't fit my feet. Size 44 once fit -- now a 44 is a tad too large, and a 43 a tad too small. No amount of insoles will solve the problem.
Over the last 2 years, I've bought FootJoy Reel-Fits. Ah, comfort! with sizes that fit.

With the quality of Ecco it will not be a difference.

That may be for you, but I can tell you I wear a Size 10 in every US shoe I have ever worn, which converts to a 44. However, I wear a 43 in every one of the 7 styles of Ecco shoes I own, which is a size 9 according to the chart. Maybe it's because I have a wide foot and the European shoes tend to run wider than the comparable US equivalent.
Anyway, the point I wanted to make to the poster is don't buy them based on the conversion chart - definitely get fitted.

Fiddler's Green Golf Course in Eugene, OR has a pair of the World Class Saddle GTX shoes from last year (same color as a current shoe) that they are selling for $250. I tried them on, but they were just a tad too small.
I believe the style number is 39784-50899.

I'm the same shoe size you are and I also have to wear a size 43 in the World Class model. However, I wear a size 44 for my older style Ecco shoes. I think the sizing has changed a bit over the last few years. BTW, the World Class models are great shoes.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I had to register just to post when I googled Ecco golf shoes and soles and this forum came up. The Ecco shoe soul on one shoe I bought my DH started coming apart shortly after he started wearing them. Now these are a discontinued model and so I don't think that the Ecco manufacturer is going to warranty them - do you? They are the Flexor Hydromax model. I just said what model they are, I said I had only worn them a short period of time. I'm disgusted with the Ecco shoe so far. I thought they were supposed to be good but not when they fall apart like this.
Here is what Ecco said so far:
" They will evaluate the shoes to see if they are defective and still covered under the warranty. If they are under the warranty, they will repair them if possible, and if not they would authorize replacement. You would not receive your old shoes back. If they are not covered under warranty, they will send the shoes back to you with an explanation as to why they were not covered.

ECCO Customer Service "

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 2008/09 style quoted above and the new world class GTX for 2009/10? Or is it all just aesthetic changes that Ecco made?
Thanks!

I wanted to buy some Ecco shoes, because I have heard nothing but good about them. I have tried on several pairs, and they are entirely too narrow for my feet. I could not find any wide sizes available at the locations I was looking, and refuse to pay that kind of money ordering them online without being able to try them on first. I have the same issue with the Adidas and Nike golf shoes, even though both brand tennis shoes are perfectly fine. I dont wear wide sizes in any other brand shoes, but these just dont seem to fit my feet.

I don't know what I've got, but they look just like this. I really like them, and think my next pair of golf shoes will be Ecco as well. Mine have the Gortex, and they are superbly waterproof!
